It is during the autumn months that we process applications for winter properties (those rented from roughly end of May to mid October). 2025 has been busier than past years with a bumper number of winter properties available..

There are a few reasons for this -

A mini building boom in the Longview sub-division in Hawea has boosted properties available.
There are over 340 houses currently for sale in Wanaka and some which have not sold, have now been offered to rent.
Lastly landlords have been made to feel more confident with recent law changes enabling them to give 90 days “no cause” terminations so they are able to regain possession of their homes more easily.

At the time of this newsletter going live, we have just 1 winter property to fill so another successful winter season.
